If you or your child have already been diagnosed with dyslexia I can offer tuition, either online or at my home, tailored specifically to your needs.
Should some of the indicators on the Diagnosis page sound familiar, then in the first instance I can offer a Dyslexia Screening Test to, either hopefully put your mind at rest, or determine whether a full Dyslexia Assessment should be carried out. The Dyslexia Screening Test will take less than one hour and can be performed either at my premises or your child's school, if required. It is important to understand that this test is not sufficient for a school to accept a diagnosis of dyslexia and therefore extra funding for support in the classroom will be unable to be accessed solely on the basis of this. For this to happen a full Dyslexia Assessment is needed.
The Dyslexia Assessment takes approximately 3 hours and covers a range of tasks and breaks can be taken to ensure the child feels comfortable and confident. Once a diagnosis has been given, this assessment is sufficient for a school to access local authority funding for the extra pupil support which is your child's legal right. Again the assessment can be carried out at my premises or a school.
